Engineering Manager @ Delivery Hero

Delivery Hero is a global delivery platform operating in 70+ countries, where I support a team focused on developing scalable cloud and frontend solutions for the first step of the funnel, vendor discovery for restaurants, shops & dmart. We were around 20 engineers a year ago, but grew to more than double as we aimed to streamlined vendor discovery across different verticals. The services we own are responsible for processing around 95M orders a month contributing to 810m GMV, generated by 21M requests a day.

I have overseen multiple successful product launches by defining & executing long term strategic missions along with Product, Analytics and Design counterparts, directly contributing to a 32.1% increase in our revenues. In addition to solving technical challenges, a core part of my role is building and scaling high-performing teams. I prioritise mentorship, growth by implementing multiple leadership development programs that have significantly improved team engagement and retention, tbh since I started supporting this team, we have 100% retention.

Key achivements

Simplification of BE services by introducing GraphQL and later on making a move towards Federated Graph.
User Segmentations & Personalisations on Vendor Discovery for all restaurants, shops and dmarts
Introducing Personalised & Configurable page layouts
Designing & developing new app navigation strategy with mixed vertical home screen resulting in 19M in EBITDA

11 years in Tech

Throughout my 11 years in the tech industry, I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse domains such as AdTech, FinTech, and Logistics—contributing to innovative solutions, including building an Uber competitor in South Korea. Starting as a software engineer, I transitioned into leadership roles to pursue my passion for growing people and delivering large-scale business impact. My journey reflects a unique blend of technical expertise and a management mindset, enabling me to lead high-performing teams and drive product success.

I began my career as a polyglot engineer, honing my skills in PHP, Node.js, Python, and Go while embracing web technologies like React.js and AngularJS. Later, I expanded my expertise into hybrid mobile development, launching 19 production-ready apps using React Native and Flutter. This technical versatility has been instrumental in architecting scalable solutions, mentoring engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation and quality within my teams.

As I moved into leadership roles, I focused on empowering teams to achieve ambitious goals. At Taboola, I managed a portfolio of mobile products, including SDKs and APIs, while driving product innovation and implementing processes for global impact. Prior to that, I successfully built and scaled full-stack engineering teams at Simform and Moveo Apps, delivering high-quality projects on time and inspiring team members to push their boundaries. Each role has reinforced my commitment to driving meaningful outcomes for businesses and empowering teams to excel.
